recently e ava ve began 2 cull (a 'better' word 2 kill) stray cats, w e hygenic reasons. although it's been recently 'proven' tt civet cats transmit e sars virus, i dun c e reason 4 e ava 2 cull stray cats which r domestical. oso i dun find their 'reason' fully valid. they mentioned tt's not bcoz of e sars condition tt they r doin it but in coordination of e 'ok campaign'. since they mentioned that its 4 e benefit of e public hygenie, they 'should' ve started it b4 sars n not now when they find e number of stray cats's 'extremely large' (2 them)... cullin'll oni result in e anihiliation of cats in sg. sg ve once given street cats e title of 'sg cat' statues of cats ve been placed on 1 of e bridge @ raffles area. oso cats r such cute animals which tourists like 2 c. even if e sayin of cats transmit sars's 'correct' y dun ava cull pigeons, crows n cockroaches? their quantity r far more larger than cats. stray cats r not wat they 1 2 b, they yearn 4 pple 2 care 4 them. oso there r oso pple feedin them; they try their utmost 2 survive in e streets created by e govt tt promoted animal care gave them, 2day e same govt's exterminatin them. is it fair 4 e cats? juz bcoz of mayb 1, all ve 2 b culled? sterilization's stil a more humane method 2 'solvin' e cat breeding problem in sg. cats, though r animals, stil ve lives, cullin them oni deprives them of their rights 2 live. imagine in a world when cats r like us n we r like them, they cullin us on e pretext tt we transmit some virus? tink n consider 4 e cats.
